[FAQ] How and Why to Apply Empty [FAQ] How and Why to Apply

Q: Why should I apply? I'm already registered to the forum and I can already get on the server, so what's the point?
A: Slow down there poncho because sure, you're on the forums and sure, you can get on the server and sure, you can even build pretty much whatever you like within the confines of FTB but you know what? After you're done building, then what? You log off and that's when shit hits the fan because when a normal player logs off, they can be secure in the knowlege that they're part of a town with protections against things like creepsplosions, griefers, thieves, and roaming marauders. Meanwhile, you log back on and your dirt shack is now FULL of creepsplosions, griefers, thieves and roaming marauders. Way to go, loser.

Q: So why even let me log on anyways?
A: A few reasons. First of all we at Detritus are all about the "Try before you buy" mentality, even though you're not actually buying anything. So you can log on, check out the mods, the community, the towns, and play a bit and decide if it's for you. Additionally it makes you, the unregistered player a mob of sorts. You can trade with passing townies or play the part of the wandering bandit, a thing we figure will either increase immersion or be kind of annoying.

Q: So how do I even apply?
A: Application is easy and takes about five minutes, max, unless you're reeeaaaaaallllly sllllooooow at tyyyppiiiiinng. Head on over to the application page to get the app format, make a new post with that app filled out, and a mod will check it as soon as they can (usually about a day or less) and approve you. Probably. Maybe not if you seem like a jerk.

Q: What qualifies as a "Jerk" exactly?
A: Don't get too tripped up on that, the bar we set for you is super low, pretty much just at "A decent human being." In general, we like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I'd even go so far as to say that you'd have to be actively trying to get rejected for us to say no. Getting banned after the fact, on the other hand, is a completely different matter. That's much easier. Be sure to check the in-server rule wall when you log on and the global forum rules right now if you haven't already!
